Our Mission
NoorAyyaam (“Sacred Moments Illuminated”) is a digital Islamic historical calendar that brings the rich tapestry of Islamic history to life. Every day of the Islamic calendar carries the weight of sacred moments - births of prophets and saints, revelations, battles, and moments that shaped the Ummah.
Our goal is to help Muslims connect with their heritage by presenting these events with the reverence, accuracy, and beauty they deserve. Every name is accompanied by its full honorific; never abbreviated, never diminished.
Full Honorifics
Every figure is presented with their complete honorific titles. Hadrat prefix, full Arabic and transliterated suffixes. No abbreviations EVER.
Moon Sighting
Adjustable date offset for local moon sighting differences. The base calendar follows the Umm al-Qura calculation, with manual adjustment of up to ±2 days.
Sourced Events
Events are referenced to classical Islamic sources including Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Tarikh al-Tabari, and Sirat Ibn Hisham. To ensure clarity and accessibility, we have also relied on trusted contemporary sources that have already undertaken extensive scholarly verification and provided carefully reviewed translations and wording with the utmost respect. Among these sources are Dawat-e-Islami and Maktaba-tul-Madina.
Sunni Perspective
Content is presented in accordance with the Ahl as-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah understanding, while maintaining respect for all recognised schools of thought and established scholarly traditions. All material is presented with due reverence and in accordance with orthodox Sunni scholarship.
