Description

The passing of Shaykh al-Akbar Muhyiddin Muhammad ibn Ali ibn Arabi in Damascus. Born in Murcia (Spain), he was one of the most influential mystics and scholars in Islamic history, authoring over 350 works including Al-Futuhat al-Makkiyyah and Fusus al-Hikam. He is buried at the foot of Mount Qasiyun in Damascus, where Sultan Selim I later built a mosque complex in his honour.
