Sayyiduna Adam

Sayyiduna Adam (peace be upon him) was the first human being and first Prophet of Allah, created directly from clay (soil) by Allah Almighty — without a father or mother. He was taught the names of all things, surpassing even the angels in knowledge, and Allah commanded the angels to prostrate before him as a sign of his honour. His blessed height was 60 yards (90 feet). He gave 40 years of his own stipulated lifespan to Sayyiduna Dawood (peace be upon him) out of love. He and his wife Sayyidatuna Hawwa (radi Allahu anha) — created from his rib — were first placed in Paradise, then sent to earth. He wept so intensely that his weeping exceeded that of all creation combined. He is known as Abul Bashar — the Father of Humans — and is the ancestor of all humankind.
