عَائِشَة بِنْت أَبِي بَكْر
(Radiyallahu Anha) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهَا
17 Ramadan 58 AH
— Makkah
- ◈Exceptionally intelligent and astute — described as a young prodigy
- ◈One of three wives who was a Hafiza (memoriser of the Quran)
- ◈Became a Muhaddisah (Hadith expert) and Faqeeha (Islamic jurist)
- ◈Consulted by male companions on Islamic matters — teacher of scholars and experts
- ◈Narrated thousands of Hadith — particularly documented matters relating to women's issues
- ◈Her judicial acumen in Islamic jurisprudence and knowledge is still respected worldwide
- ◈The fear of Allah never left her heart — she kept busy in prayers
- ◈Endured poverty and hunger alongside the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) — survived on dates and water for months
- ◈Generous with wealth — helped the needy and contributed to mosque construction
- ◈Stood firmly for truth and justice
- ◈Proof that a woman can be far more learned — achieved scholarly excellence
