Biography
Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Ali ibn al-Jawzi (510-597 AH / 1116-1201 CE) was one of the most prolific scholars of the Hanbali school. Born in Baghdad, he authored over 300 works spanning hadith, tafsir, history, and asceticism. His most famous works include Talbis Iblis (exposing Satan's deceptions), Sifat al-Safwa, and Zad al-Masir. He was renowned for his powerful public sermons that attracted thousands to repentance.
