Born on a Friday in Madinah al-Munawwarah. The exact date is reported as the 6th, 7th, or 8th of Shawwal; the year is reported as 148 AH by most scholars and 153 AH by others. He holds the rank of the 8th Shaykh of the Qadiriyyah Razawiyyah 'Attariyyah spiritual order.
