Hadrat Mikail (Alayhis Salam) is one of the four greatest archangels in Islam. He is entrusted by Allah with the distribution of sustenance (Rizq) and provision to all creation, as well as the control of rain, vegetation, and natural phenomena. He is mentioned by name in the Holy Quran: 'Whoever is an enemy of Allah, His angels, His messengers, Jibreel and Mikail — then indeed Allah is an enemy of the disbelievers' (Surah al-Baqarah 2:98). He commands a vast number of angels who assist in carrying out Allah's decrees regarding sustenance and the natural world.
