Biography
Yazid ibn Muawiyah was the second Umayyad ruler. His reign saw the tragic events of Karbala in 61 AH and the Battle of Harrah in 63 AH, in which the sanctity of the holy cities of Madinah and Makkah was violated. These events have been widely condemned by scholars throughout Islamic history.
