Sayyidatuna Ruqaiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) was born seven years before the declaration of Prophethood. During the Battle of Badr, she was extremely ill; the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told Sayyiduna Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) to remain behind and attend to her, assuring him he would receive the same reward as those fighting in battle. She passed away on 19th Ramadan when the news of victory at Badr reached Madinah.
