The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was born on Monday 12th Rabi' al-Awwal, corresponding to 20th April 571 C.E., during the refulgent moments of dawn, when the darkness of night was departing and daylight was spreading, at his mother's house in Makkah al-Mukarramah. He belonged to Banu Hashim, a branch of Quraysh, the famous Arab tribe.
