When the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was six years old, his blessed mother Sayyidatuna Aaminah (may Allah be pleased with her) took him to Madinah to visit his father's maternal family. On the return journey, she passed away at Abwa' and was buried there. After her passing, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Sayyidatuna Umm Ayman (may Allah be pleased with her): 'You are my mother after my (biological) mother.'
