At age 35, when a torrential rain caused floodwater to damage the Ka'bah and the tribes of Makkah were on the verge of bloodshed over who would have the honour of placing Hajar al-Aswad, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) resolved the dispute with great wisdom. He spread his blessed shawl, placed Hajar al-Aswad on it, and invited the chiefs of all tribes to lift the shawl together. He then lifted the sacred stone with his own blessed hands and placed it at its position.
