In the 8th year of migration, on 10th Ramadan, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) left for Makkah with an army of approximately 10,000, which grew to 12,000 as tribes joined on the way. He entered Makkah as its conqueror, yet his blessed head was lowered in humility so much that it was touching the saddle of his camel, as he recited the blessed verses of Surah al-Fath.
