The Mi'raj — the Night Journey and Ascension: On the illuminated night of 27th Rajab, 11 years after the proclamation of Prophethood, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was taken from al-Masjid al-Haram to Bayt al-Muqaddas in a short period of the night, then ascended through the seven heavens to the stations of Divine proximity. This journey — with body and soul together — is established from the Holy Quran and authentic hadith. One who denies the earthly portion is a disbeliever; one who denies the celestial journey is misguided.
