The Quranic titles from Surah Al-Tawbah, verse 128 — 'Aziz (Mighty/Dear), Harees (Desirous of your welfare), Ra'uf (Compassionate), and Rahim (Merciful) — are applied to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The titles Ra'uf and Rahim are among the names of Allah, and their use for the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Quran is noted by scholars as a mark of his supreme honour.
