Allah Almighty took a covenant from ALL previous Prophets (peace be upon them) that if the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were to come in their time, they would believe in him and support him. This is established from Surah Ale-Imran, verse 81, and establishes his title as Nabi al-Anbiya' — Prophet of the Prophets.
