The great hadith scholar Hadrat Imam Muslim ibn al-Hajjaj (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ al-Naysaburi passed away. He compiled Sahih Muslim, regarded as the second most authentic collection of hadith after Sahih al-Bukhari.

The passing of Imam Muhy al-Din al-Nawawi at the age of only 45 in his hometown of Nawa, near Damascus. Despite his short life, his scholarly legacy is unmatched: Riyad al-Salihin, the Forty Hadith, commentary on Sahih Muslim, Al-Adhkar, Al-Majmu, and Rawdat al-Talibin are among the most widely studied works in the Islamic world. His works have been translated into virtually every major language.
