Description

Following the passing of the Prophet Muhammad, Sayyiduna Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ was elected as the first Caliph (successor) of Islam at the Saqifah of Bani Sa'idah. His caliphate of just over two years was marked by the Wars of Apostasy (Ridda), the compilation of the Quran, and the beginning of the great Muslim conquests into Iraq and Syria.
