Description

The passing of the great ascetic and hadith scholar Hadrat Fudayl ibn Iyad (Rahimahullah) رَحِمَهُ ٱللَّٰهُ in Makkah. Originally from Khorasan, he famously repented from a life of highway robbery after hearing a verse of the Quran and devoted the rest of his life to worship and knowledge. His sayings on sincerity (ikhlas) and fear of Allah are widely quoted. Both Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal and Imam Shafi'i praised him highly.
