Description

During the caliphate of Hadrat Sayyiduna Uthman (Radiyallahu Anhu) رَضِيَ ٱللَّٰهُ عَنْهُ, as Islam spread to diverse regions, variations in Quran recitation arose. Uthman commissioned Zayd ibn Thabit and a committee to produce standardised copies of the Quran based on the original compilation. These copies were sent to major Islamic centres (Makkah, Madinah, Kufa, Basra, Damascus) ensuring the Quran would be preserved in its original form for all time.
