Sayyidah Zaynab bint Ali ibn Abi Talib was the granddaughter of the Prophet Muhammad and daughter of Sayyiduna Ali and Sayyidah Fatimah. She was present at the tragedy of Karbala (61 AH) and showed extraordinary courage and eloquence in the aftermath, delivering powerful speeches in the courts of Kufa and Damascus that preserved the truth of what happened. She is revered across the Muslim world for her patience, bravery, and steadfastness in the face of injustice. Her shrine in Damascus is a site of visitation.
