Sending salat upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) removes sins faster than how water extinguishes fire. Sending salat upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is superior to freeing a slave.

Save yourselves from lying because lying opposes faith.

Where are those people with beautiful, glowing faces who were proud of their youth?... The passing of time weakened and disgraced them and they were placed in the dark depths of their graves. Hurry and seek salvation.

I advise you to fear Allah and urge you to glorify Allah Almighty in a way He deserves to be glorified. Supplicate abundantly in the merciful court of Allah Almighty with Divine-fear and hope. O bondmen of Allah Almighty! Be aware, undoubtedly, Allah Almighty has held in pledge your souls for His right and has taken a firm covenant from you. You have the Divine Book of Allah Almighty whose wonders do not cease. Seek advice from it for the dark day (Day of Judgement). Undoubtedly, Allah Almighty has created you to worship Him and appointed over you the Kiraman Katibin (recording angels). Take advantage of the remaining time period of your life and excel each other in good deeds before death approaches you.

O people! Save yourselves from lying because lying opposes faith.

The one who goes to the door of the leader and affirms his lie, and mentions regarding him that which is not present within him, is going to the worst of places.

Many sinful believers whose worldly state is miserable and wretched will be admitted into Paradise solely due to their generosity.

The person who discloses my faults to me is dearer to me.

I have pondered about it; when I intend to improve my worldly life, there seems to be a loss in the afterlife. And when I intend to improve my Hereafter, I observe the loss in my worldly life. So, this is the fact; hence you should (comparing the loss of the afterlife) bear the loss of this mortal world.

Remember Hell abundantly since it is extremely hot and very deep and its hammers are made up of iron (with which the sinners will be struck).

If I drink it, its deliciousness and sweetness will soon end but accountability for it will remain.

To me, offering Salat-ul-Fajr in congregation values more than offering Nafl Salah all the night.

Who else can be a better servant than me! The one who is a ruler of the Muslims, in fact, is a servant of them.

O Yes. Listen! The one who misses his Salah, he has no contribution in Islam.

I wish that all these privileges may counterbalance; neither do I owe someone, nor does someone owe me.

O my son! Keep your clothes off the ground; for it will keep them clean and Allah also likes it.

Hold yourselves accountable before you are held accountable, and weigh your deeds before they are weighed for you.

Learn knowledge and teach it to people. Learn with it dignity and tranquillity, and be humble with those who teach you.

Beware of filling your stomachs with food and drink, for it damages the body, causes diseases, and makes one lazy in performing Salah.

True brotherhood is being by your brother's side at times of need; not just mentioning him and saying: I am your brother!

Now, O Umar, your love (for me) is accomplished.

We were a nation without possessions. Then Allah blessed us with honour through Islam. If we seek honour in anything other than Islam, Allah will humiliate us.

Humility is to consider every Muslim you meet to be superior to you.

Surely, you are better than Umar as you fulfil the rights of Allah and your Rasool in a better way than I do.

If your hearts were pure, you would never tire of your Lord's speech

I do not like for any day or night of mine to pass by in which I do not look at the Quran

I am now deprived of my familial tie with you through marriage

It is not possible that I perform Tawaf without the Beloved Messenger

O people! You live in a temporary house and are spending the remaining part of your life. Therefore, quickly carry out as many good deeds as possible till death. Whether you enter into morning or evening, remember that the world is engulfed in deception. Therefore, the worldly life should not deceive you at all and the highly deceptive Satan should not deceive you at all by making you think of Allah being Most Forbearing

I fear that you people will get engaged in filling treasure, and not fulfil the obligation of protecting the Ummah. If you do so, remember that modesty, Amanat (trust), and loyalty will die out from the society. Listen! The best justice is that which contemplates the matters of the benefit and betterment of Muslims; what their right is, do give them, and what right they need to fulfil, do take it

Amanat is (the name of) honesty. Stay firm on it, and do not become the first amongst treacherous people, otherwise, whosoever amongst the people coming afterwards will commit treachery, you will become a partner with him (in the sin). Well-wishing is to fulfil complete right. Do not oppress orphans and those who make contract as the one who has oppressed them will have to be answerable in the court of Allah on the Day of Judgement

O people! Certainly, Allah has granted you this world so that you prepare for the Hereafter through it. He has not granted you this world for the purpose that you become interested in it. Keep fearing Allah because the fear of Allah is a safeguard against torment and also a Wasilah (medium) in the court of Allah. Fear Allah regarding the matter of 'rights of people'; live while being a single group and do not split into different groups. Remember Allah's favours on you; when you were the enemies of each other, He inspired love in your hearts

You have been commanded to obey and follow; therefore, do not become interested in the world at all in your matters

I am amazed at the one who knows that death is real, yet continues to laugh.

I am amazed at the one who knows that the world is temporary yet feels contentment in it.

I am amazed at the one who believes in predestination yet becomes distressed by calamity.

A person who makes both his outer appearance and inner self correct for the sake of Allah — Allah will fulfil his worldly and religious needs.

Take care of the likes of your brother, treat him well then you will attain your favourite thing from him

Do not have an evil suspicion about a word that comes out of your brother — seek the positive aspect and form a good opinion out of it

Of two acts, never indulge in that which makes you follow your Nafs (self), because following the Nafs is pure loss

Whenever you want your need to be fulfilled, recite abundant Salat upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) before making du'a

Have patience with the Dhikr of Allah and you will be comforted

Always remain prepared for troubles and difficult circumstances

Refrain from show-off in all your matters

Do not ask unnecessary questions — keep your talk to the point

Value your health before sickness overtakes you

Steadfastness is half of success like sadness is half of old age

Give up doubtful things and hold firmly to what is certain

Knowledge is better than wealth: knowledge protects you while you have to protect wealth. Spending decreases wealth, but knowledge grows when spent.

The real scholar is he who does not make people despair of Allah's mercy, nor make them feel secure from His punishment, and does not make them abandon hope in His relief.

One who truly knows himself will not be harmed by the criticism of others.

Whoever wants to be absorbed in the remembrance of Allah, he should make Dhikr his habit and custom and have patience in each trouble and misfortune

Whoever longs for a long worldly life, he should be prepared to face troubles

Whoever wants to retain his honour and prestige, he should refrain from showing off

Care for your health before your illness and make good use of your spare time otherwise you will face anxiety and grief

When a thing disturbs your heart, abandon it, because peace lies in abandoning that thing

Abu Bakr and Umar are better than all

One cannot comprehend the level of knowledge and wisdom of Sayyiduna Ali — he had an iron will with regard to Allah's matters and in supporting His religion; he would speak in a decisive manner and would resolve issues with great justice. The eminent personality of Mawla Ali was the fountain of knowledge and wisdom

Send blessings upon the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and then begin your gatherings

The essence of dignity lies in good manners

Congratulating the people of goodness and being angry with the people of evil is a sign of sound faith.

Sitting with a learned person is dearer to me than the world and everything within it.

When a person begins to take account of himself he benefits from visiting the sick, attending funerals, and visiting graves.

Faith in Allah is a blessing that purifies you from polytheism

Allah has made patience helpful in achieving its rewards

Although the world is considered good and exquisite, but the reward of Allah is far greater

When two people quarrel, the one who reconciles first will go to Paradise first

Sustenance has been divided by destiny, but it is better for man not to be greedy for monetary gain

What is the greatest action? Embracing faith in Allah. How can one attain salvation from destruction? By having certainty in Allah. What thing adorns a person? Knowledge which is accompanied by forbearance.

These are the etiquette taught to us by Allah Almighty.

Take this [charity] and I seek your forgiveness, as there is not much and we have been commanded to be generous in every state; these are just a few, but if I had more, I would give them to you also.

This war should be delayed until tomorrow by any means, so that we can spend this night in the worship of Allah Almighty. Allah Almighty is well aware that Salah, recitation of the Quran, making Du'a and seeking forgiveness in abundance is very dear to me.

Whoever loved us for the sake of Allah Almighty, he and us will be like this on the Day of Judgement.

Be cautious of injustice, for the supplication of the oppressed reaches the court of Allah Almighty.

Whoever seeks the honour of this world without having piety will remain in disgrace.

Opportunities pass like clouds. Therefore seize opportunities when they are available.

Do not rush into an action until you have given it enough thought. For when a noble plan is thought through, its outcome is praiseworthy.

I will continue to seek knowledge until I enter the grave

The pen and inkpot are with me until the grave

The Night of Salvation is also known as the Night of Intercession, for it is on this night that the beloved Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) requested to intercede for his ummah, and Allah Almighty accepted his intercession for all of his ummah except for the one who ran far from the mercy of Allah Almighty like a camel, and continued to distance himself by persisting in sins.

Just as love for the world is the root of all sin, hatred for the world is the source of all good deeds.

Do not leave your tongue unrestrained, for it will harm your honour. Protect your tongue; do not speak and do not fall into hardship, for hardships have been consigned to the tongue.

Adopt sincerity.

A young man who was patient and grateful patiently and happily endured the ill-treatment of others without even reacting — demonstrating the habit of the beloved bondsmen of Allah, who remain patient in every affliction and thank Allah

The best of deeds is a sincere intention

The one who sits in the company of bad people becomes victim to the evil of the carnal self; if a person has righteousness and goodness within himself, he will prefer the company of the righteous.

The carnal self can tolerate stepping on fire but finds it far more difficult to act upon knowledge.

The carnal self adopts the characteristics and habits of the company one remains in.

The soul of action is sincerity. Just as the body without the soul is like a mere stone, likewise, action without sincerity is simply dust.

A person should not consider himself worthy of anything — he should keep watch over his state at every moment, for the spiritual path is long and death may come at any time.

Among the etiquettes of oneself is that a person should always speak the truth — lying is bad, and polluting one's tongue with lies is a form of self-disrespect. A person should eat less so that they do not need to go to the toilet frequently.

The Nafs [self] has a habit of finding comfort in its companions. Whatever kind of people one sits with, one adopts their habits. This is why the Awliya first pay attention to the rights of friendship and encourage their disciples accordingly — learning and acting upon the etiquettes of friendship is considered obligatory among the Awliya.

During Tawaf, a person was only making this supplication: 'O Allah Almighty! Make my friends righteous.' Someone asked: 'Why are you only praying for your friends?' The person gave a remarkable reply: 'I have to return to my friends. If they become righteous, I will become righteous too, and if they go astray, their deviation will surely affect me. Therefore, I am praying for my friends.'

Among the etiquettes of hospitality is that when a traveller arrives, one should be pleased, show them respect, and welcome them with honour and reverence. Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) did not even ask the guests where they had come from or what their names were — he promptly engaged with showing them hospitality.

A human cannot survive without food. However, one condition of etiquette in consuming food is to avoid overindulgence — the one whose sole concern is filling their stomach has no more worth than what exits it.

Looking at the holy Quran sharpens the vision, provides protection against eye pain and prevents the eyes from becoming dry.

The one who acts upon the internal spiritual lifestyle of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is called a Sufi.

Five types of people must be avoided: the liar, the fool, the miser, the coward, and the sinner.

Regarding Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu) and Hadrat Umar (radi Allahu anhu): he praised them in the highest terms, declaring that the sun never rose on anyone greater than Hadrat Abu Bakr Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu).

Whosoever sends salat upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) 700 times in Sha'ban, Allah Almighty will appoint some angels to convey his salat to the beloved Prophet, which will please his soul. Then Allah Almighty will command those angels to supplicate for the forgiveness of that person until the Day of Judgement.

Allah Almighty commanded the world: O world! Serve the one who worships Me and exhaust the one who serves you.

Anger is the key to all evils.

If you desire the longevity of a blessing Allah has bestowed upon you, then thank Him for it as much as you can.

If you feel a delay in sustenance, recite Astaghfirullah abundantly.

Allah Almighty ordered the Earth: O Earth! Serve whoever worships Me and tire the one who serves you.

Give charity to increase your wealth and pay Zakah to protect your wealth.

Allah Almighty prohibited usury so that people do not discontinue doing good.

Allah Almighty deprives the one who is wasteful in his spending.

Refrain from arguing and fighting regarding religion for it occupies the heart and creates hypocrisy.

The one who embraces moderation will never be poor.

There is no provision better than piety. There is nothing better than silence. There is no greater enemy that causes as much loss as ignorance. There is no greater illness than the illness of lying.

The one proud of his worship is a sinner, and the one embarrassed by his sins is obedient.

The one who recites Ya Rabbana five times at the time of helplessness, Allah will protect him from the things he fears. He will also be given that which he desires.

I am a guest in the house of Allah Almighty. I eat if He feeds me and I adopt patience if He keeps me hungry, until He gives me food.

Whoever claims to love Allah while holding love for the world has lied.

Due to the love of the world exiting their hearts — if the love of the world was in their hearts, they would be unable to perform a single prostration correctly.

It is a punishment for the heart that becomes heedless and focuses on other than Allah Almighty during the prayer.

It is despicable for a man to sell his religion and eat from that.

The benefit will be from your graceful sight.

Do not harm another with your tongue or hands and do not speak ill of them. Protect your outer, protect your eyes and tongue, and use them for the sake of Allah Almighty. Keep the remembrance of Allah Almighty in your heart, always keep your tongue moist with dhikr and recitation of the noble Quran, and safeguard your heart from the whispers of Satan.

An illiterate Sufi is Satan's clown.

Hadrat Imam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullahi alayh) is the most learned scholar and the one possessing most fear of Allah among all Aaimma-e-Mujtahideen.

Keep your mouth shut from such disrespectful remarks.

If you have the urge to sit in the company of learned people, then keep your mouth shut from such disrespectful remarks.

Hadrat Imam Abu Hanifah (rahmatullahi alayh) is the most learned scholar and the one possessing most fear of Allah among all Aaimma-e-Mujtahideen. Imam Shaafi'i says: 'All Fuqaha are children (juniors) of Imam Abu Hanifah.'

If Muhammad Bin Isma'eel does not know a Hadith, it is not a Hadith

I found studying with complete attention and steadfastness to be extremely beneficial for memory.

A person is sincere when he does not like to be considered dignified despite exerting full effort in acts of piety.

The most sorrowful of people is he who is worst in character.

Awe in your heart and concern for your past bad deeds in the court of Allah Almighty tells of your modesty.

Modesty teaches silence, and fear keeps one anxious.

Adopt the company of he whose qualities speak to you, and do not sit with whoever speaks to you with their tongue.

If you have seen any defect within me, then tell me.

I am your servant; I am the lowest among you.

You became fearful due to me, so forgive me and continue playing.

At this present moment in Baghdad, Shaykh Abdul Qadir Jilani has made the announcement — so I have lowered my head and complied.

O Khidar! The one who has seen Shaykh Abdul Qadir, the leader of the saints — why does he desire to see me? I am from his subordinates.

There are many happy people for whom their happiness becomes a calamity.

People oppressing one another in the world is a cause of darkness on the Day of Judgement.

When Allah Almighty wills to humiliate or destroy a person, He removes modesty from him. Then you will see that person in a state where he has hatred towards people and they have hatred towards him.

There are 3 things which make me laugh and 3 things which make me cry. The three things that make me laugh are: 1) I am astonished at that person who pins his hopes on the world whereas death is in search of him. 2) I am shocked at that heedless person who does not awaken from heedlessness. 3) I am astonished at that person who laughs loudly even though he does not know whether his Lord is pleased or displeased with him. The 3 things that make me cry are: 1) Separation from the beloved Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and the blessed Companions. 2) Occurrence of the pangs of death. 3) Presenting myself in the Divine Court while I do not know whether I will be dragged towards Hell or attain a place in Paradise.

Be consistent in performing the 5 prescribed prayers and they will be an expiation for the sins committed between them as long as major sins are avoided.

Every person has an inner and an outer. Thus, whosoever rectifies his inner, Allah Almighty adorns his outer, and whosoever ruins his inner, Allah Almighty ruins his outer too.

Indeed, knowledge is abundant and life is short. Therefore, learn the essential knowledge of Islam and leave everything other than this, as you will not be helped regarding this.

That sin in the presence of which no good deed gives benefit is arrogance.

Responding to difficulty with patience and generosity is greater than responding with equal force — for the one who restrains anger earns the love of Allah Almighty.

Responded to troubles with patience and prayer rather than complaint — credited Surah Alam Nashrah (verses 5-6) about ease accompanying difficulty

This world is like a shadow — if you chase it, you will never catch it; but if you turn your back to it, it has no choice but to follow you

The hardships I faced were so severe that had they fallen upon mountains, the mountains would have crumbled. But through Quranic recitation, every hardship was overcome

The apportioned provision will not increase through your chasing it, and it will not decrease due to your contentment; therefore, be pleased with the decree of Allah Almighty

La ilaha illallah is My fortress; whoever enters My fortress is safe from My punishment — however, this has a condition, which is love for us, the Ahl-e-Bayt of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

The sign of salvation is using one's intellect before acting

The world is like a carcass — those who desire it are like dogs

Whoever loves Allah is alive — his remembrance will always remain in people's hearts. Whoever loves the world is disgraced

I know a path leading straight to Paradise: perform acts of worship and do nothing but them until this becomes the only action you do

Patience entails one becoming like the earth, which carries both mountains and mankind without considering it a burden or calamity — rather, it considers this a blessing and gift from its Lord

Your greatest strength is to overcome your carnal-self. The one who cannot reform himself cannot reform others

The world is frivolous except for five matters: bread which fills the stomach, water which quenches thirst, clothing which covers nakedness, a home in which a person resides, and sacred knowledge which one utilises

If only I received the entirety of the world's sorrow so that all people could be free from it

The short path to Paradise: neither take from anyone nor ask from anyone, nor should you possess anything to give to anyone

He who claims inward knowledge yet contravenes the outward commands of Islamic law is a wrongdoer

Maintain sincerity in your actions until they become sincere — this is more difficult than the action itself, and saving actions once they are sincere is just as difficult

Do not seek refuge in anyone other than Allah — for whoever seeks refuge in other than Allah has placed his hope in a wall of sand

The heart that is attached to the world cannot be attached to Allah — they are two vessels that cannot both be full

Whoever is not watchful over his own heart will find his heart has become a home for everything other than Allah

The people of the world are like travellers sleeping on the road — they will be awakened before they have rested

Gratitude for a blessing is to recognise that the blessing belongs to Allah, not to yourself

The one who is truly alive is he whose heart beats for Allah — all others are walking dead

Do not be deceived by the sweetness of sin — for its bitterness will arrive in proportion to its sweetness

Fear is the companion of hope — whoever has hope without fear has been deceived, and whoever has fear without hope has despaired

The richest of people is he who is content with what Allah has given him

The foolish person spends his morning and evening in lowly activities, whilst the intelligent person searches for his own faults

Some methods for the one who works for the Hereafter: becoming beloved to Allah Almighty through voluntary salah, attaching one's heart to the Quran, staying steadfast upon Allah's commands and prioritising them, being humble knowing that Allah Almighty is watching, devoting full effort to pleasing Him, being pleased with a small amount of provision, and satisfaction with anonymity

Whoever possesses these five is brave to a great extent: unwavering steadfastness in acting upon Allah's commands, striving in which there is no forgetfulness, wakefulness without negligence, focussing upon Allah Almighty in solitude and public whilst avoiding ostentation, and preparation for death alongside reflecting upon it

He who is distant from Allah Almighty due to two matters is truly distant, and he who is close to Allah Almighty due to four matters is truly close. The two matters by which one becomes distant are to abandon obligations and engage in voluntary deeds in their place, and outward actions the heart does not attest to. The four matters by which one draws close are holding fast to His court, continually striving in worship, being patient upon difficulties, and refraining from publicising one's wrongdoings

Allah Almighty grants the sweetness of His dhikr and a distaste for Satanic whispers to whoever implores Him consistently

Five things are most superior: crying over sins, rectifying flaws, obeying He who knows the unseen, removing rust from the heart, and not allowing desires to dominate you

Five things are such that their existence in the heart prevents establishment of anything else: fear of Allah Almighty alone, hope in Allah Almighty alone, love of Allah Almighty alone, being modest before Allah Almighty alone, and having love for Allah Almighty alone

I have seen benefit manifest by carrying out acts of worship in the night's darkness

Do not do anything for the sake of people, or leave or open anything for their sake — all of one's actions should be for Allah's sake

I am astounded by someone who spends morning and evening seeking worldly benefit, but never does anything to benefit his carnal-self (nafs)

Preoccupation with amending the carnal-self diverts one's attention from people

He who obeys those above him shall find those below him obeying him

Do not sever ties with your brother over suspicions, and keep him pleased. The sign of knowing Allah Almighty is to fulfil His rights and to prioritise them over yourself as much as possible

A person is not deserving of praise until he gives preference to his religion over his desires, and he is not ruined until he gives preference to his desires over his religion

Abstinence (zuhd) is to despise this world whilst not demanding anything from creation

Do not incline towards the world, as the rope from Allah Almighty will be severed. Do not tread arrogantly upon the earth, as it will soon become your grave

Someone who wastes the days of his life in procrastination is deceived, as well as he who dreams of the stations of the righteous but makes no attempt to gain them

A person's faith is incomplete until three attributes are found in him: when angered, his anger does not prevent him from speaking the truth; when pleased, his happiness does not cause him to sin; when capable of doing so, he still does not usurp the wealth of others

There are ten stations for the one who fears Allah: consistent sadness, being overcome with sadness, fear which leaves one restless, crying to a great extent, spending days and nights in anxiety, fleeing from places of relaxation, profound levels of uneasiness, fear stemming from one's heart, life becoming languid, and finally to hide one's melancholy and preserve it

If people were as compassionate to themselves as they are to their children, they would find happiness in their outcomes

Save yourself from a situation in which your praise is widespread and your faults are hidden

Four matters elevate a person: knowledge, decorum, chastity, and trustworthiness

Those who have proximity to Allah Almighty have hearts which always remain concerned about divine decree, whereas the general body of pious people have hearts concerned of their endings. The latter say: 'How will our ending be?' and the former say: 'We do not know what judgement Allah Almighty may have made concerning us'

Protecting actions from that which destroys them is more difficult than performing them

Make friends, but do not take them as confidants. Save yourself from evil acquaintances and remain wary of your friend the same way you are wary of your enemy

He who procrastinates about pious deeds will have immense regret on the Day of Judgement

What do those who fill their stomachs gain from filling them? The hungry gain wisdom from their hunger, whilst those who eat to their fill have indigestion

Three matters are from the character of the pious: fulfilling obligations, avoiding forbidden acts, and abstaining from heedlessness

Three qualities found in the righteous lead to Allah Almighty being pleased with a person: seeking forgiveness abundantly, humility, and profuse charity

Whoever does not value bounties has them taken from him without him even realising. The one for whom calamities are lightened — due to continued patience — gathers reward

Consign your neediness to Allah Almighty; He shall liberate you from people

Character and manners translate your intellect, whilst your tongue translates your heart. Your face is the mirror of your heart, because whatever is hidden in the heart becomes visible upon the face

Hearts are of three types: those which are sturdy and immovable like mountains; those which are like date palm trees, whose roots are firmly planted in the earth yet wind causes them to sway; and those which are like feathers, thrown here and there by the wind

The best sustenance is that which is protected from five matters: sin when earning it, humiliation by begging for it, deception in one's profession, earnings derived from sinful instruments, and infringement of people's rights

Only someone who avoids doubtful matters has strength to save himself from his evil desires

Whoever mentions me in a bad light, I have forgiven him. Yet I will not forgive someone who deliberately says something against me whilst knowing I did not do it

Few are those whose statements and actions bear no contradiction

Someone who does not value blessings will experience a decline he shall not even realise

Modesty and love come to the door of the heart. If they find abstinence and piety in it, they stay; otherwise they leave

Intelligent is he who understands the secrets of the Quran and reflects upon them

Whoever projects himself amongst creation contrary to his reality falls in the sight of Allah Almighty

Powerful is he who subdues his anger

There are three causes of abstaining from sin: fear of Hellfire, longing for Paradise, and modesty before Allah Almighty

The whole world becomes obedient to the one who is obedient to Allah Almighty

Rather than causing people harm, good character is to be patient upon the harm received from them

A person attains ascendancy by giving preference to worship over his desires

Whilst residing amongst creation, do not become heedless of the Creator

The first thing a person should do after repenting is abandon evil company and refrain from every action that leads him to sin. Instead of acting upon his desires, he must try his utmost to make emulation of the examples of the saints more beloved to him than his own life.

True repentance is not correct without advising yourself and your Muslim brothers. This is because the one who achieves true repentance wishes for other people to repent for their sins too.

If someone walks into an orchard in which every type of tree grows, and every kind of bird is sitting on them, each saying in its individual voice 'O saint of Allah! Peace be upon you', he is a prisoner of those birds if his soul feels relieved upon hearing this.

I wish the sorrows and difficulties of every creation were transferred to me so they would be free from pain.

I have been repenting for 30 years for saying Alhamdulillah once. A fire spread across a marketplace in Baghdad and every shop was destroyed. My shop was in the same marketplace, but someone informed me that it was not destroyed, and I said 'Alhamdulillah.' So I have been ashamed for 30 years because I considered the loss of other Muslims to be beneficial for me.

Do not sit in the company of evil people, and do not be heedless of Allah even in the company of the pious.

How can I complain to my doctor about the illness when the illness is from the doctor himself — the test is from Allah Almighty.

If people had as much compassion towards themselves — by avoiding sins and performing pious deeds — as they do towards their children, they would receive happiness in their outcome, i.e., death.

If someone splits my heart into two parts, he will see 'La Ilaha Illallah' engraved on one part and 'Muhammadur Rasoolullah' on the other

I tried to utter as the teacher did but I felt as if I did not have control over my tongue — Allah protected his recitation from error even as a child

I am a beggar of the court of the Benevolent Rasool. A piece of bread is not my religion — I will not flatter the worldly rulers

Do you brothers have any religious disagreement? No. You both are brothers in the same spiritual order; your blood relation may cut off, but if your reverence to Islam, the Sunnah and the elders of the spiritual chain (silsilah) is still there, then this relation cannot come to an end. Whoever is first from you two in resolving this issue will be the first to advance towards Paradise

I declare that if the wealthy people do not gift the Sayyids from their pure wealth, it is a loss for them. Remember the time when the eyes will not find any shelter except in the honourable ancestor of these noble people. A part of your wealth — which will soon be left behind when you enter your graves — should be spent on the blessed and pure progeny of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) so that on the Day of Judgement, you are blessed with the great rewards and bounties of the generous, noble, compassionate and merciful Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)

It is my practice to perform a sacrifice every year on behalf of my father and give its meat and hide in charity. I also offer one sacrifice on behalf of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and distribute its meat and skin to the noble Sayyids

The time of death is near, and I long to die in Madinah in a state of belief (Iman) and be buried in the blessed cemetery of Baqee' with goodness

Our path is built upon the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). Whoever does not memorise the Quran and write hadith is not to be followed in this path, for our knowledge is bound by and referred back to the Quran and Sunnah

Thankfulness is to not disobey Allah with the very bounties He bestowed

You have not done hajj at all!

Those who recognise Allah carry out the deeds granted to them by Him. If I were to live for a thousand years, I still would not reduce how many good deeds I perform, even by an atom

This is when I realised my spiritual mentor knows well what is in my heart

Keep these [gold coins], you are more rightful to them than I. By the grace of Allah, they are not something I need, yet your heart desires them

As long as my spiritual mentor Sari al-Saqati is among us, I cannot begin speaking publicly

I spent 10 years rectifying my heart, tongue and soul. I found rectifying the heart to be the most difficult of these.

I remedied everything, but nothing was harder than remedy of the carnal self (nafs) despite it being the lowliest in my initial consideration.

The pious elders attained gnosis by forgoing their rights and enacting the obligations ordained upon them by Allah.

The signs of a gnostic are: he should not be lazy in the dhikr of Allah, should not become weary in fulfilling the rights of servitude, and should not attach his heart to any other than Allah.

Hunger is a cloud. When a person is hungry, the rain of sagacity and wisdom fall on his heart.

Do not be deceived when you see a person given miraculous abilities, such that he can fly in the air. Observe to what extent he ordains good, forbids evil, upholds the boundaries of Allah and complies with Shari'ah.

At his passing he forgave all who had wronged him personally — but not those who had tainted the honour of other scholars

Speak of your brother in his absence in the same manner that you wish to be spoken of in your absence.

The one who spends haram wealth in righteous works is like he who cleans his clothes with urine. Clothes are only cleansed with water, and sins are only removed by that which is halal.

Gaining strength for worship and remaining steadfast upon it cannot be achieved unless you develop an intense fear of Allah.

Knowledge is attained to develop piety and the fear of Allah; this is why knowledge is virtuous. If this was not the case, knowledge would be of no importance and just be like anything else.

The Muslims must hold fast to the way of the majority, the way of Ahl-e-Sunnat wal Jama'at, and not be swayed by those who seek to introduce innovations or deviate from the path of the righteous predecessors and their followers

Seeking intercession through the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the way of the Ummah from the earliest generations, established by the Quran, the Sunnah, and the consensus of the scholars

Whoever loves Allah after beholding His mercy is not sincere in his love.

In the sight of Allah, this world and everything in it has less status than the wing of a mosquito. How will I answer if Allah asks me on the Day of Judgement: 'Why did you abandon the sunnah of my beloved? Whatever wealth I gave you does not hold the value of a mosquito's wing in My court. Why did you not spend such lowly wealth for an esteemed sunnah?'

Do not worry. By the mercy of Allah, you will recover today.

According to shari'ah, one goat is wajib [for zakat on five camels]. The ruling for us is to give them all in zakat. My imam in this is Hadrat Abu Bakr al-Siddiq (radi Allahu anhu), as he gave all his wealth in charity.

I set forth with the seal of your love stamped upon my heart. Only your love is what shall remain within it. If only I were steadfast; if only I could keep my eyes close, and not open them until I beheld you. When tears pour from the eyes onto the cheeks, it becomes apparent who is truly crying and who is merely pretending.

(To his disciple Shamsuddin Turk, on the continuation of the spiritual chain) Oh Shams! You are my son. I have desired from Allah Almighty for my spiritual chain to continue from you and for it to stay until the Day of Judgement.

(To Shamsuddin Turk on being appointed saint of Panipat) Do not stay here for more than three days. Allah Almighty has blessed you with the sainthood of Panipat. Go and live there and keep trying to reform the strayed people. I will be your assistant everywhere.

(To his mother, after killing the king of snakes) I have killed the king of snakes and also have taken an oath from the snakes to not bite anyone from my family.

(When his caretaker asked why he did not eat from the Langar Khanah) Your Honour! You instructed me to feed — how dare I eat even a single grain without the permission of my spiritual guide?

The love of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is the foundation of all spiritual progress — without it, no amount of worship or knowledge can elevate a person on the path to Allah.

Adherence to the Sunnah is not merely an external practice — it is the light by which the heart is illuminated and the path to nearness to Allah is opened.

The murshid who is not himself firmly grounded in the Shari'ah of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cannot be a guide to others — the path of the Awliya is nothing but the deepest possible adherence to what the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) brought.

Do not be deceived by a man who claims spiritual gifts but lacks reverence for the Sunnah — true karamat flows from the light of following the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in every detail.

The connection to the Ahl-e-Bayt of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is not merely a matter of lineage — it is a trust that demands the highest standards of knowledge, worship, and character.

Exercise is necessary for strengthening the body, and Tahajjud is necessary for strengthening the soul.

Become a useful person; being of use is what makes a person respectful.

Being conscious of one's responsibilities is the most valuable asset.

Wasting time is the greatest misfortune.

When a book is held close to the chest, it will penetrate the heart, and when it is kept away from the chest, the book will also remain far from the heart.

To expel students from the madrasa is just like a father separating his son from himself, or just like someone amputating an ailing part of their body. Although Shari'ah permits excluding a student in light of an organisation's policies and interests, I deem it to be an act from the most disliked acts that are permitted.

One should only perform voluntary actions which one is able to uphold.

I do not wish to see people's faults.

One who does not follow Shari'ah is not worthy of Tariqah.

Profound love for desires is a fatal companion and a bad habit is a great enemy.

It is the defect of one's mind if he likes his own work.

Seek refuge of Allah from the lust for wealth because one gains consciousness after it is too late.

The world is a very bad place; one who falls into its trap once, he is ensnared further and further into it, and one who gets away from it, it is after him.

The ability to perform a righteous deed is indeed a sign of the answering of one's prayers.

If someone's letter is read, or he is mentioned, or his name is called in Madinah Munawwarah — so it is his good fortune!

No greed, no refusal, no accumulation. — Do not be greedy that someone will give you something; if someone gives you something without your asking, do not refuse him; and when you take it, do not save it.

Seek Allah's refuge from the intoxication of wealth, for one becomes sober from it after a very long time.

If you will remember Allah at times of happiness, He will remember you at times of your hardships and sufferings. And whenever some worldly thing looks pleasant to you, you must first consider its ultimate fate before acquiring it.

The one who cannot recognize the bounties of Allah except those related to food, becomes weak in abiding the rituals and usually suffers hardships in life. The one who hankers after earthly things fails in acquiring them.

You will avail goodness as long as you love the righteous people. Whenever some truth is revealed about you, you should admit it as one who recognizes truth is similar to one who abides by it.

Highest level of faith is to observe patience at Allah's decree, to remain pleased with whatever has been destined, to trust in Allah from the core of the heart and to remain submissive to Allah all the time.

O People, why is it so that you are becoming greedy towards worldliness and you are losing the religion for which you had been caretaker? I am aware of those malicious ones among you who display arrogance while riding on their horses, and are sluggish in offering Salah, neither listen to the Holy Quran attentively nor inclined to set slaves free.

There are two, three, four and five things that, whoever practises, shall bring him rise in rank before Allah: Always make your earning from Halal and lawful ways, eat it and also provide Halal food to your family. Ask Allah to grant sustenance on daily basis. On every morning, consider yourself among dead as if you have joined them. Render your dignity and respect to Allah. If someone calls you with abusive names or quarrels with you, leave the issue for Allah and when you commit some sin, ask forgiveness from Allah.

A perfect person has three signs: (i) Not complaining at the time of suffering from calamity, (ii) Not telling his problems to others and (iii) Not indulging in self-praise.

This is better that your friend rebukes you than avoiding you. Who else can be your well-wisher more than your friend? So fulfill what he expects from you and be compassionate towards him. Never believe any information related to him from some jealous person.

A person should remain worried lest resentment is invoked for him in the hearts of the Muslims and he even remains unaware. A person uses to disobey Allah in his privacy: due to this Allah invokes resentment for him in the hearts of the Muslims and he remains unaware.

Those whose tongues remain occupied in the Zikr of Allah shall enter the Paradise smiling.

Availing the company of knowledgeable persons, moving with them and attending their sermons are signs of a scholarly man.

None can become pious before becoming a scholar and one cannot be embellished with knowledge unless he practises what he learnt.

Acquire knowledge because both the learner and the educator would receive equal reward. Except these two, virtue lies in nobody else.

O people of Damascus! You are brothers to each other in Islam, neighbours to one another in one avenue and aides to one another when combating the enemy. Then why not you people like me! All of my efforts and endeavours are benefiting others instead of you. I am seeing your learned ones departing from this world, while the ignorant among you are not inclined towards learning. You people are forgetful regarding Afterlife being engrossed in search of livelihood. Listen! People before you had built strong palaces, amassed wealth and had been over-optimistic but what happened then? Their palaces turned into graves, their hopes deceived them and their hoarded wealth went waste.

The supreme level of Taqwa (piety) is to fear Allah so much so that one begins to fear Him as regard to even an atom and surrender the Halal thing in which he suspects the presence of even a particle of Haram: in this way he builds up strong shield between himself and the Haram.

I like death because of my yearning to meet my Rab. I like poverty to remain beseeching in my Rab's court. I like illness as it would be expiation of my sins.

The grave proclaims daily: O man! Have you forgotten me? Be warned! I am the confinement of solitude, I am the abode beyond all norms, I am the home full of apprehension, I am the dwelling of creepy-crawlies and I am the abode bearing narrowness except for those to whom Allah makes me expand.

My son, Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the most superior from among creation. When Allah Almighty placed the soul inside me and it reached my feet, I sat down in tranquillity. Then the lightning of the Arsh glowed for me. I looked towards the Arsh, and I saw written upon it: 'Muhammad Rasool Allah'. Therefore, the most superior in the sight of Allah Almighty is the Beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Whoever desires that his Islam be sound and his religion be protected, let him leave that which does not concern him.

The slave of Allah will not attain true piety until he leaves that which has no harm in it, in order to protect himself from that which does have harm in it.

Surely sins are part of the reasons for the descent of calamities. And surely forgiveness and seeking pardon are from the means of the descent of blessings.

The one who remembers Allah Almighty in abundance will be awarded four bounties: the luminosity in his face, eloquence of his tongue, a pure heart, and barakah in his sustenance.

Whoever pleases Allah by displeasing people, Allah will protect him from people. And whoever displeases Allah by pleasing people, Allah will leave him to the people.

Keeping good relations with relatives increases wealth and prolongs lifespan. Having good character is a portion of piety.

Be in the world as though you were a stranger or a traveller passing through.

Do not take anything from your sustenance to store for tomorrow. When you arrive at the morning, do not wait for the evening, and when you arrive at the evening, do not wait for the morning.

Do not let your health make you heedless of your death; and your youth of your old age; and your wealth of your poverty; and the worldly life of the Hereafter.

Every verse of the Noble Quran is a level in Paradise and a lantern of your houses.

Whosoever recited the Quran has gathered Prophethood between both his sides except that Divine Revelation does not come to him.

Speaking is like medicine; it is beneficial in small quantities, but will prove to be harmful in large amounts.

Paradise is forbidden for every foulmouthed person.

There is no limb in a believer's body which is more beloved to Allah Almighty than the tongue; it is due to this very tongue that Allah Almighty will admit him into Paradise. And there is no limb in a disbeliever's body which is more disliked by Allah Almighty than the tongue; it is due to this very tongue that Allah Almighty will cast him into Hell.

The one who desires to enter Paradise should not be drawn towards worldly wealth.

The importance of good deeds and virtue in regards to the acceptance of du'a is like that of salt in food.

O Salamah! Do not go to the doors of kings. You shall not receive anything from their worldly wherewithal, but they shall take from something more superior, i.e., your religion.

The accountability of the possessor of two dirhams shall be harsher than the accountability of the one who possesses one dirham. The more wealth, the more difficulty.

O people! Your destruction lies in greediness, as this never comes to an end nor shall you ever satiate it. Divide your wealth into two parts — one for spending upon your family, and the second for spending in the way of Allah Almighty in order to prepare for the Hereafter.

As long as gifts are given to you wholeheartedly, take them, but when they become the price of your faith, leave them.

O my son! Avoid debt, for it is the disgrace of the day and the sadness of the night.

Speaking little is great wisdom, so adopt silence as it is a praiseworthy habit; it lightens one's burden and reduces one's sins.

The one who recognises death, the hardships and grief of the world become light for him.

Whoever does not express gratitude for the bounties of Allah and does not adopt humility, Allah halts his worldly benefit and opens a layer of Hellfire for him.

There are three things of particular esteem in the Book of Allah. Whoever protects them is a true servant of Allah, and whoever lets them go to waste is His enemy: Prayer, Fasting, and Bathing to remove major impurity.

There is nothing more honourable than knowledge; kings rule over the people, and scholars rule over the kings.

If I attain salvation from punishment then I am better, otherwise a dog is better than hundreds of sinners like me.

When the first gold and silver coins were made, Satan took them, placed them on his forehead, then kissed them and said: The one who loves you is truly my slave.

You can gauge how much your brother loves you from the amount of love you have for your brother in your heart.

Avoid looking at even the shawl of a woman, for a glance creates desire in the heart.

When these three things are found in a gathering, then mercy turns away: mention of the world, laughing excessively, and backbiting people.

Commemorating the Mawlid disgraces Satan and strengthens the believers.

The worst kind of people are those who seek faults in others.

Whoever wishes to know his rank in the court of Allah should ponder over his actions. His actions reflect his rank.

Do not debate with scholars, nor the ignorant. If you debate with a scholar, he will withhold his knowledge from you. If you debate with an ignorant person, he will become angry with you.

The Quran guides those who obey it to the extent it makes them reach Paradise. It does not abandon those who abandon it, rather it pursues them until it makes them fall into Hellfire.

The world only holds goodness for two types of people: for the repentant and those who perform good deeds to attain a high rank.

O youngsters! During your youth, utilise your strength and ability in the obedience of Allah. And O elderly people! What are you waiting for now?

I prefer to give one dirham as charity during my life than for someone to give 100 dirhams on my behalf after I die.

There is no remedy for the foolishness of he who is not content with the will of Allah.

The world and the Hereafter are like two wives. If you please one of them, the other becomes upset.

The example of a bad-mannered person is like an unusable, broken, clay pot.

Satan runs away from even the shadow of a person who keeps his desires under his feet.

Whoever seeks the world in return for an action of the Hereafter, Allah turns his heart and includes his name amongst the dwellers of Hellfire.

Hardship for a believer is like a shackle on the feet of a quadruped.

The one who is inflicted with difficulty has undoubtedly entered upon the path of the Prophets.

From the children of Adam, Satan likes those who sleep and eat excessively the most.

A great scholar is he whose forbearance overwhelms his desires.

Whoever consistently remembers death does not care about the struggles he may encounter in this world, nor its comforts.

Allah has placed the strength of a believer in his heart, not the limbs. Have you not seen a weak old man fast during the day and worship throughout the night, whereas a young person of hypocritical nature falls short in doing so?

There are three categories of people: 1) The people of close proximity — they have been consistently performing good deeds from the very beginning and continue to do so until they pass away. 2) The Ahl al-Yamin (People of the right side, i.e., Paradise) — they began their lives in sin and negligence, but later repented. 3) The As'haab al-Shimal (people of the left side, i.e., Hellfire) — they spent their entire lives in sin and died without repenting.

Feeding others and engaging in pleasant conversation will take you to Paradise.

Do not joke excessively with children. Otherwise, your rank and status will diminish in their eyes.

One act that earns the forgiveness of Allah is to feed the needy.

The most beloved action is to make a believer happy. Another action I enjoy doing is spending on my Muslim brothers.

Allah Almighty will state on the Day of Judgement: Where are those who protected themselves and their ears from frivolity and music? Admit them into the gardens of Paradise. The angels will be told: Sing My praise to them, and tell them they now have nothing to fear or grieve.

Whoever fears Allah will be loved by people, even if they do not desire to do so.

Allah Almighty grants His Paradise to the one who reveres and obeys Him. Whoever abandons disobedience and reveres Allah shall be granted honour by not being admitted into Hellfire. Seek help from Allah and He will make you reliant on no one except Him. There should be nobody more grateful to Allah than you, nor should there be anyone more dependent upon Him than you.

Whoever acquired knowledge for the pleasure of Allah will be granted that which is sufficient for him.

I swear by Allah! I have not even seen an atom's worth of good in the words or actions of those who follow their whims and desires.

In order to remain steadfast, the honourable Companions would like to increase their good actions rather than decrease them.

Whenever the Companions partook in a funeral, they would remain visibly saddened for days. Even their appearances would express their sadness.

If an individual conceals his worship like he conceals his sins, Allah Almighty will make his worship apparent.

The stages of spreading knowledge are to listen attentively, adopt silence, memorise it, act upon it and then to spread it further.

When a scholar refuses to say 'I do not know', he falls into destruction and ruin.

Backbiting is more severe than debt. A debt can be returned, but you cannot retract the statements of backbiting.

The worst of places is that in which a person sins and leaves without repenting.

Wisdom is gained through three things: remaining silent, listening attentively, and protecting your knowledge. The fruits of wisdom are attained through three traits: working to attain the everlasting home (Paradise), remaining distant from the fraudulent home (the world), and preparing for death before it arrives.

Sit with people of wisdom as their gatherings are a treasure. Their company is safety and befriending them is honourable.

Whoever holds scholars in contempt has damaged his Hereafter.

It is great beauty for one to adopt silence when he has no reason to speak.

In my eyes, speaking the truth is greater than swearing an oath.

Good manners is to greet people cheerfully, spread goodness and refrain from causing anyone difficulty.

Bravery is to forgive the mistakes of your Muslim brothers.

Contemplation is a mirror, which shows you your virtues and evils.

Possessing love for Allah dictates that you obey Him consistently, make incumbent upon yourself to perform what He has commanded, and to refrain from that which He has prohibited.

If you cannot remain patient upon that which was destined for you by Allah, you shall not be capable of patience upon the destiny of your carnal self (nafs).

My brothers, I like three things for you: 1) To recite the Quran day and night. 2) To stay affiliated with the Muslim community. 3) To refrain from disrespecting and dishonouring Muslims.

Whoever is granted a good appearance, good sustenance, and an upright rank but adopts humility for the sake of Allah is from His sincere servants.

How many are there who welcomed the day but did not see it all the way through? How many have waited for the upcoming day, but did not manage to reach it? If you ponder over the distance of death, you will despise your desires and their deceit.

The hearts of those who repent are like a mirror in which everything can be seen. Their hearts are gentle and quick to accept advice.

Nothing is more beneficial to the human heart than loving the pious, sitting in their company, and acting upon their statements and actions.

I am amazed at someone who can sleep knowing there is a decorated Paradise in front of him and a blazing Hellfire behind.

The one who does not interact kindly with those whom he has no choice but to interact with (until Allah makes a way out for him) is not wise.

Indeed, Allah has declared Paradise to be the cost of your carnal self. Therefore, do not sell it in exchange for anything else.

Whenever you hear something good, write it down. After you have written it, memorise it. After that, relay it to others.

The world is temporary, and so is wealth. The people before us were an example for us, and we are admonishment for the people after us.

Whenever Allah wants goodness for someone, He creates three traits within him: understanding of Islam, disinclination towards the world, and acknowledgement of his defects.

The world is a temporal home and a place of passing by. The pious and fortunate shunned it away, whereas the unfortunate fall prey to it. He who chases the world is unfortunate, and fortunate is he who renounces it. The world brings difficulty to its obedient followers, destroys its enthusiasts and deceives those who bow down to it. Poverty is wealth, excessiveness is harmful and its days are constantly subject to change.

The earth cries in favour of and against people. It cries in favour of those who obey Allah upon it and cries against the unfortunate who burden the earth by disobeying Him.

The one with a stomach can be led to destruction because of it. If he does not fill it, he becomes weak, and if he fills it, he becomes burdened.

If someone refrains from committing a sin for seven years, he shall not commit it anymore.

O people! Make the world a midwife and the Hereafter a mother. Have you not seen the child who admits himself to a midwife and then leaves her when he recognises his mother? Indeed, the Hereafter is like your mother, and she shall soon take you.

I read in the Torah that whoever wakes up upset with his worldly matters has woken up whilst being upset with his Lord. Whoever sits next to a wealthy person and adopted humility for him has two thirds of his faith disappear. Whoever complains to the people about a difficulty that has reached him, it is as if he complains about Allah.

When you see your Lord granting you a perpetual amount of bounties whilst you continue to disobey Him, you should become fearful.

Just as you try your utmost to conceal your sins, strive to also hide your good deeds.

The life that has passed in this world is like a dream, and what remains is simply wished for.

For everything that pleases you in this world, there is something else that shall sadden you.

Indeed, provision for the Hereafter is very cheap in this world. Hence, accumulate as much as you can, because when the day of spending it arrives, you will not be able to acquire less or more.

Remembering good deeds and forgetting transgressions is a great deception.

Knowledge is not acquired through bodily rest and relaxation.

Inheriting knowledge is better than inheriting gold and having pious conduct is more valuable than pearls.

Three things cause blessings to be removed from the home they are found in: wasteful spending, adultery and fornication, and deception.

Allah Almighty does not open the heart of he in whom there are 3 things: a desire to remain everlasting, love of wealth, and anxiety over tomorrow.

Do not investigate into people's bad and lowly habits. Inspect and scrutinise yourself in relation to Islamic character until you become obedient and the value of your condition increases with you in your heart.

Without knowledge, the entire world is ignorance. Without sincerity, all actions are scattered particles of dust. You should continue to worry concerning your sincere actions too until you come to know whether they have been accepted or not.

Thankfulness for knowledge is practical action, and thankfulness for practical action is to increase in knowledge.

Filling the stomach is the root of heedlessness.

When a person remains adamant upon sin, his every action is tainted by carnal desires. As long as he remains stubborn upon even one sin, his good actions cannot be pure. He cannot attain freedom from his carnal desires until he removes all aspects of his carnal self which he knows are disliked by Allah.

Nothing has been granted to anyone greater than knowledge by which a person incrementally increases in his reliance upon Allah.

The reward of proclaiming la ilaha illallah is none other but to see Allah. As for Jannah, it is the reward of pious actions.

However much you debase your worldly life, you will commensurately build your Hereafter. However much you oppose your carnal self, carnal desires and lustful cravings, you will commensurately please your Lord. However much you recognise your enemy is Satan and adopt enmity towards him, you will gain gnosis of your Lord accordingly.

The soil of every sin is hope. The seed of every sin is greed. Procrastination is its water. The soil of every act of obedience is regret. The seed of every act of obedience is certainty. Practical action is its water.

Whoever harbours bad opinion is deprived of certainty. Whoever engages in worthless speech is deprived of truthfulness. Whoever engages in frivolous actions is deprived of piety. Whoever is deprived of these three qualities falls into destruction, and he is recorded in the register of enemies.

O young man! One cannot survive without Allah.
